Prof Driekie Hay-Swemmer

DESCRIPTION:

She has also established herself as a prolific researcher in higher education, participating with distinction in numerous national and international research projects on teaching and learning. She has contributed towards expanding theoretical frameworks in the field of higher education as well as enriching research models used in higher education research. Her research on postgraduate supervision practices and underlying theoretical understandings has contributed towards a better understanding of postgraduate supervisory practices and pedagogies within the South African context.

She was an executive member of the SA Association for Research and Development in Higher Education (SAARDHE) and of the Higher Education Learning and Teaching Association of SA (HELTASA), and is currently a member of the Academy of Science of South Africa (ASSAF). She has supervised 25 PhD students, published more than 100 articles and chapters in books and serves on the Board of Directors of the Golden Key Honours Society. Professor Hay-Swemmer prides herself on quality and strives for excellence in education.

Preshnie Pillay

DESCRIPTION:

Preshnie has a Degree in Marketing Management. She has over two years of administrative experience at Educor which gave her the opportunity to interact with people from diverse backgrounds. In the short space at Educor she has grown and developed fulfilling various marketing and academic portfolios. Her current role is the Academic Administrator and her responsibility is to ensure the efficient functioning of the Academic Department by supporting key personnel. Preshnie works very closely with Professor Henriette Hay-Swemmer, the Group Chief Academic Officer of Educor and the Academic Team.

As a Programme Development Officer, my job requires me to facilitate the development of all new qualifications and study materials for all of Educor’s different brands. I work as part of a team with two other officers, and my specific role is to develop curricula and study guides for all our new
Higher Education qualifications.
As such, I spend most of my time working and liaising with independent curriculum design experts to create relevant, high quality curricula, and subject matter experts to develop innovative study guides.

My academic career commenced in 2012 as a Graphic Design lecturer and later a part time Programme Co-ordinator. In 2014 I joined the academic team at the Educor Head Office as the Academic Co-ordinator. I now hold the position as Regulatory and Compliance Officer focusing on the implementation of quality assurance for all higher education institutions within Educor, including programme accreditation, institutional audits and monitoring of the Higher Education qualifications. I am currently a Regulatory and Compliance Officer. My role at Educor involves the accreditation and monitoring of all higher education qualifications. I ensure that all the higher education brands within Educor remain compliant under the relevant regulatory legislation found within South Africa. My daily job tasks include interaction with the following regulatory bodies: South African Qualifications Authority, Department of Higher Education and Training, Council on Higher Education and various professional bodies. Lorraine- Rajagopaul

DESCRIPTION:

Lorraine Rajagopaul has over 28 years of experience in both public and private higher education institutions. Her highest qualification is an MBA from Mancosa. Her experience includes amongst others supervision of Masters and Honours research, dissertation editing, research consulting, lecturing, secondary school teaching, online staff development, facilitation, and events coordination.

In June 2016 she joined Educor as the Research Officer.

In December 2017 she secured a post as Manager: Online Staff Development and hence will be responsible for training staff both online and face to face.

She is currently pursuing her PhD with the Durban Institution of Technology.

Dr Anna Wouterina Erasmus

DESCRIPTION:

2008- 2016:
Established the Centre for Collaboration and Sustainable Development (CCSD). Dr Erasmus took over the reigns as Executive Director of the East London Management Institute (ELMI) and in August 2016 moved from ELMI to the Educor Head Office in Pinetown as Head of Quality Assurance.

2006:
Dr Erasmus ventured from public higher education to private education when joining the MSC College Head Office as Quality Assurance Manager.

2005:
The Ciskei Technikon became the Border Technikon in with the reintroduction of the homelands into the Republic of South Africa.

1986 – 1989:
Started her career in secondary education from where she moved to higher education, joining the then Ciskei Technikon.

Bilal Kathrada

DESCRIPTION:

Bilal is a software engineer, lecturer, author, entrepreneur and public speaker. Bilal has been in the fields of technology and education for over
20 years, in which time he has worked with kids at
pre-school level to people at post-grad level.

Bilal has worked with a number of notable companies and institutes like Vodacom, Blackberry, Morevest Group, Durban University of Technology, University of KZN and MANCOSA. His current focus is to promote Technology Integrated Learning at a higher education level through his work with Educor, and at primary school level through his work with CompuKids (an online Technology Academy for kids which he owns).

Bilal developed an educational mobile App called Ritmetic, which won the Vodacom AppStar award in 2012 and has been approved by the Department of Education for distribution to schools throughout KZN. The app is provided free of charge to schools. As a passion project, Bilal provides free online software development classes to people around the world via his YouTube channel.

Sagren-Lutchmana

DESCRIPTION:
Sagren Lutchmana, brings a wealth of 15 years of extremely relevant experience from the Private Education, Training and Development (ETD) sector. His experience includes Academic Lecturing, Campus Principal of a Tertiary Campus, Executive Officer (responsible for the rollout of all learnerships and training relating to Sector Education and Training Authorities [SETA’s] and National Skills Funds [NSF] projects), Accreditation Manager, Business Centre Manager/Acting General Manager and Manager: TVET and Occupational Qualifications.

He is responsible for the TVET sector that addresses changes in the ETD landscape and maintains all elements of the TVET and Occupational Qualifications Frameworks for the Group, amongst others QCTO programmes, Umalusi programmes, SETAs/Professional Bodies and High School qualifications. Sagren comes loaded with a high level of professionalism, total discipline to ensure optimal performance and delivery to the highest possible standards, and is well known for being attentive to detail.
